EXTRACT FORM "RULES OF USE OF SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY OF
NORTHERN STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY"

1. Readers, their rights, duties and responsibility

1.1  Students of all forms of studies has the right of free use of the basic library-information services.

1.2  Readers should:
- carefully treat books, other printed works and other materials received from the library funds;
- to return them by a specified date;
- not take them from the library premises, if they are not registered in their reader's record cards or other registration documents;
- not write any marks, not underline;
- not tear pages out of books and not turn down pages.

1.3  Having got books, other printed works and materials, readers should look them through carefully, and in case of detection of some defects, they should inform a librarian on duty about it, otherwise the last reader that use books bears responsibility for documents' spoiling. Reader compensates costs for editions' restoration.

1.4  Readers don't have the right to deliver their library tickets to other persons as well as to use other readers' library tickets. In cases of violation of this rule, readers can be deprived of the right of the library use.

1.5  Annually, readers should re-register their library tickets and return literatim registered in their readers' record cards by a date fixed in the Rules of use of the delivery department and the reading rooms. Not re-registered readers are not served by the library.

1.6  Before the period of summer holidays not later than 15 July, readers should return all books registered in their record cards (down in their names).

1.7 When leaving the University (including a year out, post-graduate course, long-term business-trip etc.), readers must return books down in their name and return their library tickets.

1.8  Readers should keep the Rules of the library use. Readers that violate the Rules of the library use or does damage to the library compensate it and bear other responsibility in cases envisaged by the Law currently in force. In case of a reader's refusal to keep the Rules of the library use, he/she is deprived of the right to use the library.

1.9  In case of a delay of books' and other editions' return by a specified date, readers are imposed a forfeit. It is calculated from the first day of the delay till the day of the books' return.

1.10 Readers responsible for a loss or an unintentional damage of editions should replace them with analogous editions or their copies or with edition: that are recognized equivalent by the library. If it is not possible to replace the editions, readers should compensate their actual market cost. Cost of lost books and other editions is determined by the constant commission at the methodic council of the library.
